Delta Dental Patients

A special message as we continue to provide the best possible dental care for you and your family.

A message for our Delta Dental Patients.

As of January 1, 2023, Smith & Cole Dentistry will be considered out-of-network providers for Delta Dental.

Why did this change happen?
After many years and attempts to work with Delta Dental, we were unable to agree with their cost assessments regarding your treatment. Their agreements allowed things such as downgrading materials, procedures, or treatment rejection altogether. As your dentist, it is important for us to make sure your oral health is at the forefront every time you visit our office.

Will this change increase your cost?
Delta has many different plans depending on your employer. The main issue will be if your plan allows out of network benefits. If so, then we can partner with you to maximize your plan benefits to minimize any cost changes. The only way to get a more exact answer is to look at your individual plan.

Will there be any changes to you?
If you carry a Delta PPO plans, we will continue to file your claims, but they will reimburse you directly. Because Delta Dental mandates this in their agreements, you will be responsible for payment of your dental services at the time of your appointment using all forms of payment: cash, check, credit card, health savings account, and Care Credit.

What options do you have?
You can remain our patient. We will continue to file your claims and you will be directly reimbursed from Delta Dental.

However, we understand that you may want to move to another dental office. While we hate to lose you as a patient, we can assist you in whatever way possible
